A sport is a competitive physical activity or game. An important characteristic of sports is that you can have fun while doing exercise, also many of them are fun to watch too!

Typical sports are running, football, basketball, tennis, rugby, volleyball, boxing, gymnastics, swimming and, many more! Ben and Mary will talk about the most popular sports in their schools:

1.1- Doing sports

Hello! My name is Ben, I’m 12 years old. I think that the most popular sport in my school is football; my classmates and I play football every day. It is a great sport because you need to be organized and helpful to encourage teamwork. On the other hand, it’s exciting and competitive since that the more superior team wins

I love playing football!

Hi! My name is Mary and I’m 14 years old. I think that the most popular sport in my school is running. My running team and I run every morning before classes start, we are more than 50 students! I enjoy running because it’s easy and a great outdoor sport
Also, I like listening to music while running, it’s really relaxing and peaceful.

DO: for recreational or non-team activities that don’t use a ball.
