1- Grammar
We use different grammar structures according the context and the meaning of our ideas.
1.1- Simple Present Tense
We use the “Simple Present Tense” to talk about permanent situations, routines, habits, to express likes, dislikes and preferences.
* To revise the “Simple Present Tense” grammar, check contents: “What food do you like?” and “What do you want to eat?”)
Examples:
I have milk and a sandwich for breakfast.
Mum cooks dinner at 8 o’clock
Do you like pizza?
Does she drink orange juice in the morning?
We don’t eat lunch at school.
He doesn’t like turkey.

1.3- Present Continuous Tense
We use the “Present Continuous Tense” to describe temporary situations, ongoing actions.

Examples:
I am having orange juice for breakfast today.
Mum is cooking pizza for dinner.
Is she drinking water?
We aren’t eating apples.

Look at the pictures and describe what the monsters are doing.

We use “Can” in this context to express possibility, to ask for food.

1.6- Your turn

1.7- Connector / Linking words
We use “and”, “or”, “but” and “because” to join, connect ideas.
We use “and” to join similar ideas. I like pizza and I like sandwiches.
We use “but” to join ideas in contrast. I like orangesbut I do not like orange juice.
We use “or” to give option between two ideas. Do you want to eat a hot dog or a hamburger?
We use “because” to explain the reason why we do something. I want to eat a cookie because I am hungry.
